Adsum Counselling

We offer in-person and online individual counselling sessions.
ADSUM
Latin, (ˈɑːdsum, English ˈædsʌm), INTERJECTION
Meaning: “I am present”
What does being present mean to you?
We often connect with close friends and loved ones by being ‘present.’ In these moments we see and accept, and are seen and accepted: such validation helps us feel less alone. What’s a greater struggle for many people is to be present to themselves. Many people run away from painful feelings and thoughts, until those feelings finally burst through to make themselves heard in panic, pain, out-of-control feeling behaviour, and overwhelm.
Adsum is part of my family’s motto, and is a core tenet of my approach to healing. I am here to be present with you, like a friend might be: but as your counsellor, I am also here to help you find ways to be present to yourself. Your own best life is unique, and only you can find it. With experience, tools, and education, I ask questions, find you resources, and offer you possible paths to explore to move through your challenges in self-compassion and care.
